Professionals who work with children, including childcare providers, social workers, nurses, educators and others, are mandated reporters and are required to make a report when they have a reason to suspect child abuse or neglect. This training addresses areas of risk and protective factors, definitions and common indicators of child abuse including shaken baby syndrome, and considerations for distinguishing poverty from neglect. Participants will also learn what to do in the event of a disclosure, how to make a report, what happens after a report is made, and thinking through roles as not just a mandated reporter but also as a supporter of families and how we can support a family before a situation rises to the level of needing a hotline report. This training is KDHE approved for 1.5 hours childcare licensing hours.

Delta Dental of Kansas is partnerning with the Amertican Association of Women Dentists to bring you this event featuring Dr. Isabel Rambob's "Heels of Power" Workshop.

This transformative workshop designed for women dentists who are ready to elevate their leadership, communication, and impact. Through reflective discussion and practical strategies, participants will explore how to strengthen their professional presence, communicate with confidence, and expand their influence in clinical, academic, and organizational settings. This interactive session will provide actionable tools to help women dentists lead authentically, advocate for themselves, and inspire those around them.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Enhance professional presence by identifying key behaviors, communication styles, and nonverbal cues that inspire confidence and credibility.
  2. Strengthen influence and impact by applying practical strategies to advocate for themselves, their patients, and the profession.
  3. Develop an action plan to integrate leadership and presence skills into daily practice, academic environments, or organizational roles.

Food will be provided and we will be collecting toys for Wichita Family Crisis Center.
