Delta Dental of Kansas Plan Types and the Dentist Networks They Use

With Delta Dental of Kansas, you will have one of the four plan types listed below. Our plan types are based on the Delta Dental dentist network that plan uses. An in-network dentist is one who has agreed to accept pre-established costs for services, saving you money over an out-of-network provider. You will most likely save the most by visiting a dentist in your plan’s network.

Delta Dental has two nationwide dentist networks:

  • Delta Dental PPOTM: Over 66% of dentists in Kansas participate in the Delta Dental PPO network. This network has the highest potential savings. Dentists in the PPO network agree to deeper discounts on their fees for services than those in the Delta Dental Premier network.
  • Delta Dental Premier®: Over 95% of dentists in Kansas participate in the Delta Dental Premier network. This is our largest network, making it easy to find an in-network dentist wherever you are.

Both Delta Dental Premier and Delta Dental PPO dentists work with us directly for claims and payment — so you don’t have to worry about any paperwork.

Delta Dental of Kansas plan types and the dentist networks they use:
  • Delta Dental Premier: Delta Dental Premier plans utilize the Delta Dental Premier dentist network.

  • Delta Dental PPO: Delta Dental PPO plans utilize both the Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier dentist networks, but will have higher coverage when utilizing a Delta Dental PPO network dentist.

  • Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier: Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier plans utilize both the Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier dentist networks.
  • Delta Dental PPO - ONLY: Delta Dental PPO – ONLY plans means you must use a dentist in the Delta Dental PPO network in order to use dental benefits.

Easily search for an in-network dentist here by choosing your plan type in the dropdown.

If you don't have a Delta Dental PPO - ONLY plan (sometimes called an EPO plan), then you are free to visit any dentist (in or out-of-network); however, you may have more out-of-pocket expenses if you visit an out-of-network dentist.
