Free Educational Opportunity: Recognizing Signs Beyond the Smile
Many Kansas children see their dentist more regularly than their primary care physician, placing you in a unique position to observe early warning signs of child abuse and neglect. By staying alert and informed, you and your team can play a critical role in recognizing potential concerns and taking action to support the overall health and well-being of Kansas children.
Delta Dental of Kansas is committed to supporting you and your team with meaningful resources and educational opportunities. In partnership with the Kansas Children’s Service League, we’re offering a free continuing education course through online trainings.
The trainings will cover:
- Your responsibilities as a mandated reporter
- How to recognize common signs of abuse and neglect
- What to do if a child shares a concern or disclosure
- How to make a report—and what happens next
- Ways you can support families before situations escalate
